Buchanan Street Elementary Magnet Center

Buchanan Magnet Center offers an enriched and extended curriculum in Math, Science and Technology to 154 students in kindergarten through grade 5. The focus areas are integrated into English/Language Arts, Social Studies and The Arts to provide comprehensive and enriched learning aligned with the California State Standards. 

Buchanan Magnet students scored an amazing 75.3% advanced/proficient in English Language Arts and 86.2% advanced/proficient in math on this year's CST Test (California Standards Test).  The Magnet Program challenges students academically, using critical thinking skills and hands -on learning.  The focused education in Math, Science and Technology allows our students to successfully matriculate into a variety of highly academic Magnet and Gifted Middle School Programs.

Buchanan Math Science and Technology Magnet Center is a small community school where students grow and learn together. Students learn to succeed as they work with challenging questions, investigate scientific principles and draw conclusions based on evidence. They use mathematical logic and technological skills in their studies and apply this knowledge in their everyday lives.
